HOPE, HOSPITALITY, AND HARM REDUCTION
PROJECT H.E.R.O.
Healing Emergency Response to Overdose
At the end of 2023, we began to dream of a more focused approach to our harm reduction efforts. Out of that dreaming came Project H.E.R.O. which seeks to continue to provide this life saving naloxone to our community by breaking down any potential barriers to access and the fear of stigma or shame. Much like our People’s Pantry initiative, Project H.E.R.O. provides 24/7 access to free naloxone and other harm reduction materials to those that need it the most through a network of vending machines! The first vending machine launched in partnership with the Town of Parrish, and is located at the new Town Hall! (6181 AL-269Parrish, AL 35580)
At Jubilee House we believe that Harm Reduction is essential to what it means to “preach the gospel” in a community like ours and we hope that this initiative will be a source of good news, hope, and hospitality for those that need it the most.
